The Journey
Over multiple roles at ING, I contributed to the evolution of their private cloud infrastructure:
Cloud Developer (2018-2019)
Provided automation for service teams using vRealize Automation and vRealize Orchestrator (JavaScript). Together with colleagues, redesigned the release process to use Git and VS Code instead of the vRO client.
Key achievements:
- Designed and implemented the integration between vRO and Ansible Tower
- Trained 50+ colleagues on the new CI/CD workflow
- Enabled peer review and proper testing before releases
Orchestration Software Engineer (2017-2018)
Designed and implemented interactions with element managers to provision VMs using CloudForms (Ruby). Focused on automating surrounding processes and helping the team adopt test automation.
Continuous Delivery Expert (2016-2017)
Part of the IT4IT team providing deployment automation solutions through Ansible Tower implementation. Developed Ansible playbooks and served as trainer for client teams.
Test Automation Developer (2016)
Led test automation for the Aveksa IAM product, creating an extensible framework despite front-end automation challenges.
